Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ComicShelf. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Armadcoda ("we," "us," or "our"), based in California, USA, governing your use of the ComicShelf iOS application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), that you have read and understood these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and that you agree to be bound by both.
2. Description of Service
ComicShelf is a comic book tracking and discovery app that allows users to:
- Browse new and upcoming comic issues sourced from Metron (metron.cloud)
- Track a personal collection and wishlist
- Follow comic series for a personalized feed
- Receive a weekly email newsletter of new issues (opt-in)
- Leave comments and star ratings on comic issues
- Look up resale prices via eBay and Amazon links
The App is provided free of charge. Comic book data is sourced from Metron, a third-party database. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any comic data displayed in the App.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
You may use certain features of the App without an account. To access features such as syncing your collection or leaving comments, you must create an account using a valid email address, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@comicshelf.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.3 One Account Per Person
You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, bans, or suspensions. Creating a new account after being suspended or deactivated is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent removal.
3.4 Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen (tap your avatar in the top-right corner → Profile → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data (profile, collection, wishlist, followed series) will be removed within 30 days. Comments you have posted will remain visible with a "Deleted User" label unless you separately request comment removal at support@comicshelf.app. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data retention.
4. Acceptable Use
4.1 Community Standards
You agree not to post, submit, or transmit any content that:
- Is unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or hateful
- Contains profanity, slurs, or hate speech targeting any individual or group
- Infringes any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
- Contains spam, advertising, or solicitation
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
4.2 Prohibited Technical Conduct
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically access App data or the Metron API through the App in ways that exceed normal personal use
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any server, database, or infrastructure used by the App
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App or third-party services
- Circumvent or disable any security or content-filtering feature of the App
5. User-Generated Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of comments and ratings you post ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant Armadcoda a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to store, display, and distribute Your Content within the App and for App-related promotional purposes.
5.2 Content Moderation
We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, edit, or remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine in our sole discretion to be harmful to the community. Our automated profanity filter may block certain submissions before they are posted.
5.3 Reporting

6. Account Suspension and Deactivation
We may suspend or deactivate accounts that violate these Terms. Our enforcement follows a tiered approach:
- Warning — First violation, content removed
- Temporary Suspension — Repeated or serious violations; duration varies by severity
- Permanent Deactivation — Egregious or repeated serious violations, including hate speech, harassment campaigns, or circumventing prior suspensions
Suspended or deactivated users may contact support@comicshelf.app to request review of moderation decisions. We are not obligated to reverse enforcement actions taken in good faith.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Property
The App, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by Armadcoda and protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written consent.
7.2 Comic Data
Comic book data, cover artwork, and related metadata displayed in the App are owned by their respective publishers and rights holders. ComicShelf is a discovery and tracking tool; we do not claim ownership of any third-party intellectual property. All trademarks and copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.
7.3 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback or suggestions about the App, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The App provides links to third-party websites and services (including eBay, Amazon, and Buy Me a Coffee). These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Your use of third-party links is at your own risk and subject to those services' own terms and privacy policies.
The App participates in the eBay Partner Network affiliate program. When you tap an eBay link, we may receive a commission if a purchase is made. This does not affect the price you pay.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. COMIC DATA IS SOURCED FROM THIRD PARTIES AND MAY BE INACCURATE OR INCOMPLETE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ARMADCODA AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Armadcoda and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice within the App. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App immediately ceases. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
15. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement — These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Armadcoda regarding the App.
- Severability — If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- Waiver — Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment — You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
- No Third-Party Beneficiaries — These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
